If you’re reading this, I can only imagine that you’ve stumbled onto my geeky little blog. I’m Flora (she/they), and I’m a diehard Pokémon fan with a lifelong enthusiasm for that and many other nerdy pursuits. Pokémon in particular has been a huge influence on my life for around 16 years now and it has been a source of immense joy throughout childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. With all that time spent obsessing over the series, I have countless thoughts constantly bouncing around my head about it, and thus it seemed only too fitting to write those thoughts down somewhere.

It’s undeniable that the thing most important to both Pokémon’s enormous success and my own personal love of it is the designs themselves, so that’s what I’ll mostly focus on here. My core ambition with this blog is to write a substantial post with something to say about every single Pokemon in the series, with each individual blog post for design reviews dedicated to one evolution line (such as Turtwig, Grotle, and Torterra) or groups of Pokémon intrinsically tied together (like various Legendary Pokémon). I want to talk about their designs, inspirations, what makes them flavourful and exciting for the series, and all sorts of things that make Pokémon so special to me. Of course, this is all very subjective and personal, so I do hope you’ll bear with me when I undoubtedly have many hot takes along the road. The most important thing to me is that I’m writing from the heart with all of these and I hope that enthusiasm shines through to make for an interesting read!

With all that said, I hope you find this interesting and look forward to reading these. I’ll be going in National Pokédex order based on the earliest debut of a Pokémon in that evolution line or group, so it may take some amount of time to get to many of my newer favourites, but it should be a lot of fun as we go.
